Boardwalk

EY KS1-KS4
Walk around the ancient sedge field on the boardwalk (wheelchair accessible) talking about the fen, its history, plants, animals and management in as much or little detail as needed.

Sensory

Look out for mammals and insects along the boardwalk and see birds from one of the hides. Listen out for different sounds and try to identify the source and location, smell and touch some of the amazing plants growing in the ancient fen.

Boardwalk Animal Hunt
EY, KS1
Wooden animals and brass rubbings are hidden on the circular boardwalk, can be included in part of sensory walk.
