Press Release

Ben's Wicken Fen Adventure

A visit to Wicken Fen by television presenter, writer and modern day adventurer, Ben Fogle is set to be broadcast on BBC1 on Sunday 11 October.

Filmed earlier this summer, Ben spent a day at Wicken Fen learning to master fen camels, stilts traditionally used by fenmen to travel across the marshy fens, exploring the local waterways in Wicken's traditional fen lighter and interviewing Property Manager, Chris Soans on the history of the fen and the Wicken Fen Vision.

Ben was filming at Wicken Fen as part of a journey through the Fens for the new BBC series Country Tracks, which also involved filming in Ely and Cambridge.

Ben Fogle first appeared on television when he was marooned on Taransay for the BBC Castaway 2000 series. Other television credits Countryfile, Wild in Africa and Extreme Dreams. Ben's recent adventures include running 160 miles across the Sahara Desert, rowing the Atlantic Ocean and walking to the South Pole.

Country Tracks is scheduled to be broadcast on BBC1 at 1100 on Sunday 11 October.
