12 Days of Christmas Walk

Need to get the kids out the house or work of some of that Christmas excess?
Then why not enjoy a family walk discovering the wonderful wildlife of Wicken Fen on our '12 Days of Christmas' themed wildlife walk.

The words of the traditional Christmas tune 'The 12 Days of Christmas' have been re-written by staff at Wicken Fen to create an interesting Christmas Walk for all the family to enjoy:-

"On The First Day of Christmas I went out to see a Bittern in a Reed Bed

On The Second day of Christmas I went out to see 2 Field Fares

On The Third day of Christmas I went out to see 3 Hen Harriers

On The Fourth day of Christmas I went out to see 4 Colly Birds

On The Fifth day of Christmas I went out to see 5 Goldfinches

On The Sixth day of Christmas I went out to see 6 Geese-a-Playing

On The Seventh day of Christmas I went out to see 7 Swans-a-Swimming

On The Eighth day of Christmas I went out to see 8 Cows- a-Mooing

On The Ninth day of Christmas I went out to see 9 Ponies Prancing

On The Tenth day of Christmas I went out to see 10 Deers-a-leaping

On The Eleventh day of Christmas I went out to see 11 Wigeon Whistling

On The Twelfth day of Christmas I went out to see 12 Woodpeckers Drumming"

Free copies of the '12 Days of Christmas Walk' are available from the Wicken Fen Visitor Centre which is open from 10am-5pm everyday except Christmas Day throughout the Festive period. The walk is approximately 3 miles with a shorter 2 mile option available.
