Come and See the Vision

The National Trust have announced dates for a series of public Drop-In Information Meetings to be held in villages and communities bordering the Wicken Fen Vision lands during May 2009.

The Drop-In sessions are part of an on-going community engagement programme by the National Trust to give local residents the opportunity to view and discuss current projects and plans for the Wicken Fen Vision with the Trust's Wicken Fen staff.

The schedule for the Drop-In Information Meetings is:-

Saturday 9 May
Village Hall, Wicken : 1000 -1300
Gardiner Memorial Hall, Burwell: 1400 -1700

Saturday 16 May
Swaffham Priory Primary School: 1000-1300
Anglesey Abbey, Lode: 1400 - 1700

Saturday 23 May
Fen Ditton Church Hall: 1000-1300
Waterbeach Primary School: 1400-1700

The Wicken Fen Vision is a 100 year project by the National Trust to create a landscape scale nature reserve and green lung for Cambridgeshire and the East of England, covering 53 sq km, from the existing Wicken Fen National Nature Reserve to the outskirts of Cambridge. The Vision will see the re-creation of a mosaic of fenland habitats to help protect and conserve endangered species of wildlife whilst providing a vast area for public access for leisure, relaxation, exercise and education.
