Half Term Events at Wicken Fen

Wicken Fen Nature Reserve has a range of activities planned for the forthcoming school half term holidays.

Feed the Birds
Tuesday 28 October
10.30 - 12.30 or 14.00 - 16.00
Children £ 4.25
The cold dark months of winter are fast approaching and with food in short supply the birds that visit are gardens need a little extra help to survive the winter. Feed the Birds is a fun activity for children making bird food and feeders that will have the birds flocking to their gardens in search of a tasty treat. The Wicken team will also pass on tips on how to provide habitats to help wildlife such as hedgehogs and insects survive the winter.

This is a chance for youngsters to dress up in their spookiest outfit for ghostly games and spooky art and craft fun down on the Fen!

Halloween Supper and Stories

On Wicken Fen's spookiest night of the year only the bravest souls should venture onto the dark misty Fen. Those brave enough can enjoy a seasonal supper made from local produce and will be scared to the core by the spine tingling ghostly Fenland tales of the Cambridgeshire storytellers.

Besides organised events the Nature Reserve is open every day, offering a range of walks and trails. Visitors can enjoy the autumn colours, see Wicken Fen's famous herds of Konik ponies and highland cattle, look out for wild deer or try bird watching from the many bird hides throughout the reserve.
