Wildlife Wednesdays at Wicken Fen

Wicken's team of Wardens and volunteers are hosting a feast of free wildlife activities on Wednesdays (30 June, 7 &14 July) as part of Wicken's Wildlife Wednesdays extravaganza.

The programme of events which will vary each week includes themed walks such as wildflowers of Sedge Fen, amphibians and reptiles, grazing animals, dragonflies together with activities such as butterfly monitoring and pond dipping.

Starting at 1130 each Wednesday, Wildlife Wednesday's are designed to show visitors the beauty of the fen in the quite period leading up to the summer holidays.

"The fen is looking an absolute picture will swathes of rare wildflowers, hundreds of resident and migrant birds and dragonflies performing their stunning flying displays up and down the waterways" says Learning Officer, Fiona Symonds. "Wildlife Wednesday's is the perfect opportunity for visitors to participate in as many activities as they want and to learn all about Wicken's magical wildlife."

All events and activities for Wicken's Wildlife Wednesday's are free. Standard admission to the reserve applies (Adults £5.75, Child £2.95 Family £14.70 ) Free admission for National Trust members.
