Winter Wildlife Walks

The cold frosty days of winter provide the perfect opportunity to wrap up warm and join Wicken Fen's experienced Wardens on a Winter Wildlife Walk of discovery.

Drawing on their unrivalled knowledge, Wicken's Wardens will lead visitors on an exploration of the fens unique range of habitats from mere and ponds, wet grassland, sedge fields to woodland to identify the vast range of native and visiting species that spend the winter months on the fen.

Walkers are likely to see a broad range of species including Greylag and Pink-footed geese, ducks including Pintail, Shoveler, Gadwall, Wigeon and Teal, to Marsh and Hen Harriers, Short Eared Owls, Bittern and Roe Deer.

The Winter Wildlife Walks will be held on Saturday 14th, Sunday 29 November and Saturday 5th December, 10am - 1pm. The guided walks cost £8.50 for adults & £4.50 children, and include a warming homemade bowl of soup in the Wicken Fen café.

Tickets are available from the Wicken Fen Visitor Centre on 01353 720274.
